Every Second Chance Begins with Opportunity
At Put Me In Again Foundation, we believe that every individual deserves another opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. A
Sometimes, moving forward starts with having the tools, support, and opportunity you needed the first time.
Put Me In Again Foundation, Inc. was created to support youth and young adults whose life experiences may have impacted their sense of safety, stability, belonging, and how they see themselves and their future.
We believe young people are more than what they have experienced. Through youth empowerment and development, leadership, life-skills education, and wellness, we co-create spaces where young people can better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and build healthy connections.
At the heart of our work is choice. While young people may not always get to choose what happens to them, they can be equipped with the awareness, tools, support, and opportunities to make intentional choices about what comes next.
The experience may be part of the story. It doesn’t have to determine the ending.
Janecia Rolland, affectionately known as Coach Jae, is the Founder and CEO of Put Me In Again Foundation, Inc. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor, author, national facilitator, transformational speaker, and youth empowerment strategist who believes that your experiences do not have to dictate your life.
Long before she became Coach Jae, she was a little girl walking the hallways of a hospital while her mother experienced repeated hospitalizations. She didn’t have the words to explain what she was feeling and experiencing or the tools to understand how those experiences of trauma were shaping her. Like many young people, she simply learned how to keep going.
Years later, she began to understand something that would become central to her life’s work: when trauma happens, it can take our choice. We learn how to survive, adapt, and protect ourselves with the tools we have at the time. Those same survival responses can follow us into adulthood, showing up in our relationships, decisions, behaviors, and the moments when we react rather than respond, often without understanding the “why” behind what we do.
This realization became deeply personal for Coach Jae. It wasn’t about blaming the past. It was about developing the awareness to understand it while recognizing that once we become aware, we have an opportunity to choose intentionally
Through her faith, Coach Jae came to understand that what happened to her was part of her story, but it did not have the authority to define who she was or the purpose God placed within her. What once brought questions eventually became connected to her calling: creating opportunities for young people to receive awareness, tools, support, exposure, and perspective earlier than she did.
Then Put Me In Again Foundation was born.
Today, Coach Jae uses her personal story and more than two decades of experience in education, mental wellness, leadership, and personal/professional development to support youth and young adults in heightening their self-awareness, understanding their “why,” and thinking past their own thinking.
At the heart of her work is reinstating intentional choice, helping youth and young adults to recognize that although they may not have had a choice in what happened to them, greater awareness and cultivating what is already within them can support the opportunity of empowerment to make intentional choices.
Because being “Put In Again” isn’t about getting another chance because you failed. It’s about understanding the game of life with greater awareness, stronger tools, a new perspective, and the confidence to say:
“I’m ready, Coach. Put Me In Again!”
